‘I started windsurfing, as a lot of people did, from a sailing background.  I used to race boats quite competitively but I didn’t like the vibe, I felt like windsurfing was more of a “feel good” sport.  My greatest achievements are my 5 years service to the SWA (student Windsurfing Association), I’m one of the two directors and over the years the SWA has got more people into windsurfing than any other institution.  Following on from this I was also the co-founder of XPLG (XtremePlayground) and we brought the first ever European Freestyle Championship event into the UK in 2012, which had huge exposure and really flew the flag for UK freestyle.  I myself have competed in UKWA and BWA events and I intend to do the full BWA circuit this year for the first time including Tiree.’
